Yes, you heard that right. No nostalgic value there. In fact, the id developers have given you custom options for switching between the modern and pixel-art retro style.
As the tweet from PlayStation depicting the new toggle exploded with reactions, the responses flooded in with equal measures of hype and craziness, just as any good Doom crowd should. Slayers were called “built different” by some fanboys like @Boostmetax. Others like @hakimyoung4 just want an un-holographic version-Classics really have standards.
Some are, meanwhile, raging over this HUD update. Back to Doom, then-interesting though small enough to make a massive noise, this update went on for the fans who love options. Whatever side you’re on-Gritty retro or glossy modern-you know id Software really thought about you. Honestly? That’s what makes this franchise so great-it respected its roots while moving forward.
