In just under two weeks, both publisher Activision and developer Infinity Ward will reveal a bit of multiplayer gameplay from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is set to be released this coming October. The reveal will happen on August 1, as Infinity Ward will be doing a live stream to show off the multiplayer gameplay in the CoD: MW relaunch.

During the August 1 gameplay reveal, Infinity Ward will likely share more details regarding the Spec Ops mode in their upcoming Modern Warfare game. However, we might’ve received the details a bit early thanks to a leak from The Gaming Revolution, which has a pretty good track record when it comes to leaking details regarding the Call of Duty franchise.

According to the leak, the Spec Ops mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be quite ambitious. On top of that, the mode will reportedly introduce a few gameplay changes, although those changes, at least as of right now, haven’t been leaked or explained in any way.

The Gaming Revolution leak suggests that the Spec Ops mode will be set in an open-world which players can explore at their own pace. Furthermore, it will give players the ability to play co-op missions with their friends, and there are reportedly over 80 co-op missions available. Also, some of the missions will feature characters from the game’s single-player campaign, so players shouldn’t be surprised to see Captain Price show up during a Spec Ops mission.

Also according to the leak, the Spec Ops mode will feature light Battle Royale elements. Of course, as of right now, there’s been no additional information as to what those elements will be. On top of that, both Spec Ops and the game’s multiplayer modes will feature the same 20 playable characters.

Lastly, the leak is suggesting that the Spec Ops mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be completely free to play, which means that you won’t have to buy the actual game to play the Spec Ops mode. If this turns out to be true, then the upcoming CoD title could end up being the most popular game in the franchise.

As previously mentioned, Infinity Ward will do a multiplayer live stream on August 1, so it won’t be long until the details regarding the Spec Ops mode in the upcoming Modern Warfare relaunch are revealed.

Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently scheduled to be released on October 25, and it’ll be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
