Kojima Productions has released a new tweet regarding Death Stranding 2 loadouts, and the fans have gone bonkers. The original tweet has Sam Bridges loading up his iconic backpack, questioning what players consider their starting loadout. And the reply-chain-and-compounding-chaos is an excitement all its own.
Now, for this tweet: It was Kojima, mysterious, cinematic, and weird, in all the right ways. The image shows Sam ready for deliveries, bases to infiltrate (wait, more stealth??), and worlds to interconnect. But what really started an interesting conversation was the question: What’s in YOUR loadout?
Some people aren’t wasting their time and have already gone into fantasies. One reply from @rozyypretty reads, “Back pain and blind optimism. Let’s deliver.” Honestly? Mood. That basically sums up the entire first game. Another, from @Evo_Pixel joked, “My loadout? Just hold my breath and hope for the best 😅,” which, yeah, pretty much when you face BTs.
Not everyone is giving in to the Dream. @CRYPT0N1TE referred to it as the “worst game ever made,” sarcastically dubbing it “Walking Simulator 2” for that brief motorcycle clip. A bit harsh, but hey, no game is for everyone. Meanwhile, @moviesplusgames had some… opinions about the monsters, questioning, “Why don’t you show the dumb monsters that attack you and fuck up your game?” Oof. Somebody’s still traumatized from the first one.
And then the PC vs. PlayStation discourse broke out. @Pettan_Enjoyer laid it down: “Ask me again when it’s on PC,” while others debated that the adaptive triggers and haptics make the PS5 version the one to beat. Meanwhile, @Captain__Bosh declared that they would rather get comfy on the couch than deal with the usual mess that comes with PC ports. Fair enough.
@FurkanK83443868, in true DNI fashion, did the obligatory “where’s Ghost of Tsushima 2?” comment. Bruh, just give Sam a break.
But what else should you take away from here? These folks are seriously HYPED. @GermanStrands drags out that “AMAZING GAME” tag, @TylerOutland2 is all four hours deep and grooving, and @Dpedroza1998 calls it “breathtaking.” So, despite the haters, the excitement is real.
So, what now? Hopefully, more teasers and a release date soon, with maybe—just maybe—less walking involved this time. (Kidding. Kinda.) Either way, Death Stranding 2 is shaping up to be one hell of a ride, with players ready to strap in. Or y’know, strap on that huge backpack and hope for the best.
