Xbox Game Pass has been a pretty incredible platform since releasing back in June of 2017. It’s reasonably priced and instantly gives members access to a lot of incredible games. That includes new titles as well like Gears of War 5. So instead of having to pay the full price of $59.99, members can just pay a small amount each month.
Just recently, it was reported that the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red was being added to the platform at launch. That sounds a little too good to be true. The rumors came from an Xbox Twitter Portugal account, which was recently just created and doesn’t have a lot of followers. Those elements are pretty big red flags and indicate that their reports are merely just rumors.

And now we don’t have to keep guessing because the developer just recently went on record, denying them completely. They said it was either misinformation or something getting lost in translation. That makes a lot of sense consider the rumors came out of Portugal. So eager gamers looking to get their hands on this in-depth RPG can cross Xbox Game Pass off the list of avenues for purchase.
When you just look at the idea of Cyberpunk 2077 coming to Xbox Game Pass, it doesn’t really hold any water. That would do detrimental damage to this game’s sales out of the gate, which is the last thing CD Projekt Red wants happening. Rather, they are looking to make this game one of the best-selling titles in recent memory.
Looking at the amazing gameplay trailers, story elements, and descriptions of Night City, CD Projekt Red deserves to make a killing at launch in terms of sales. They’ve dedicated so many years to this passion project, much like what they’ve done with The Witcher series. It’s clear they have done everything possible to make this one of the most revolutionary games let alone RPGs in some time.
If you’re a fan of cyberpunk themes and have been paying attention to this game’s development since the beginning, then you should be completely okay with paying the full price of presumably $59.99. The game offers everything you could want with this genre. The openness of Night City is full of so much potential, as well as the augments you’ll be able to acquire and enhance throughout your playthrough. September 17th is the official release date for Cyberpunk 2077 and it couldn’t come fast enough.
