After being pushed back a couple of weeks due to anti-racism protesting around the country, the Night City Wire livestream finally kicked off today. So far, there have been a lot of exciting developments and announcements for Cyberpunk 2077.
Now there is all the more reason to be excited about this game-changing RPG from CD Projekt Red. There’s even a new story trailer available, which gives players a sneak peak of what grand and tension-filled adventures await.
The trailer starts off showing a couple of different areas in Night City. It looks like an amazing playground full of endless possibilities. We already know there are different districts featuring unique characteristics and aesthetics. They’re shown in greater detail.
Night City certainly looks like one of the more unique worlds CD Projekt Red has built. It’s impressive how much time they spent with the details and its overall scale. The very act of exploring the various districts should provide hours of fun experiences.
The missions will vary a lot, but a lot of them will revolve around interactions with megacorps. They started cropping up around Night City as soon as the government started having issues with domestic crises.
Most of them are driven by profit and you can bet there will be major antagonists you’ll have to deal with at some point. Who you cross and befriend is entirely up to you, a choice system that instantly makes Cyberpunk 2077 intriguing.
The actions you perform as V will directly impact how the story plays out. In this way, there is limitless plot possibilities. CD Projekt Red deserves a ton of praise for the amount of detail that went into building this world and the hundreds of interactions you can have.
The trailer concludes by showing the fast-paced, brutal combat. It’s everything you would want in a futuristic RPG where laws have been stripped down and everything is up for grabs.
You can use advanced augments like rocket launchers or go back to the more primal days of hand-to-hand combat. It’s completely up to you how you approach the combat scenarios. Either way, you can bet they’ll be memorable and bloody.
There are a ton of other announcements that have already come out of this livestream event. They were definitely needed after it was just announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is being pushed back to November. The developer still needs to finish addressing bugs given how massive this game is. Based on everything that has come out today, the wait will surely be worth it.
