This has also been an issue in previous COD games, but unlike with past titles, it looks like the developers are going to address the issue in a future update. While responding to a fan in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare subReddit, the game's art director, Joel Emslie, confirmed that more custom loadout slots are going to be added to the game soon. Also, while he knows more slots are coming, he's not sure when the update will be sent out. He also explained why the developers haven't added more custom loadout slots in the past. "It's in mainline back at the studio and we've been tinkering with it," said Modern Warfare's art director over on the game's subReddit. "I'm not sure which update it's in, but I think it's next. Believe it or not, it can cause horrible bugs if not tested properly. I'm not certain about all this so don’t get fired up on me if I'm wrong." Of course, some of the game's standard online modes are capable of hosting up to 100 players, so it makes sense for Infinity Ward to increase that cap for the rumored battle royale mode.
