In recent months, there have been a ton of rumors that have suggested that a Battle Royale mode will be included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and it looks like we might have a release date for the 100-player free for all mode, and according to the leak, it’s not going to be included in the game at launch.

According to a Twitter user named The Gaming Revolution, who is usually pretty reliable when it comes to Call of Duty-related leaks, the Battle Royale mode for Modern Warfare will be released in January of next year, and that, as of right now, it’s Infinity Ward’s main focus.

The user also said that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has gone gold, which means that it’s ready to be copied onto discs, which is why the developers at Infinity Ward have shifted their focus to their post-launch content.

Also, as mentioned in the tweet above, the Battle Royale mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be free-to-play (F2P).

The Twitter user also revealed that there won’t be a Battle Pass for the main game, but there will be one for the Battle Royale mode. As of right now, the user doesn’t know the details for the Battle Pass.

Of course, it’s worth noting that none of this has been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward, but given that we’re less than three months away from the rumored release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale mode, the devs will probably reveal the mode and its release date before the end of the year.

As for the main game, it’s been revealed that there will be no loot box system in the upcoming Modern Warfare release, which is likely their response to the number of pre-orders that were recently lost. But, since it’s an Activision game, it’s possible, and probably likely, that a loot box and/or supply drop system will get added to the game post-launch.

Earlier this year, Activision released Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled without any microtransactions. But, they were added later as part of the Grand Prix mode, and on top of that, the update made it take significantly longer to unlock in-game items by just playing the game. So, don’t be surprised if they do the same thing after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is released.

We’re now a little under two weeks away from the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, as it’s currently scheduled to be released for consoles and PC on October 25.
