A game as massive as World of Warcraft requires constant attention to keep things flowing smoothly. Whether it’s tweaking drop rates or fight mechanics on one end, or making sure no one is clipping through the Stormwind Canal on the other, Blizzard is making small fixes to the game on a near-daily basis.
Valentine’s Day marked a new patch of hotfixes that went live after a client-side patch on the player’s part. Most of them affect the mechanics and drop rates of a few dungeons and raids in Battle for Azeroth, but there are a few other tweaks sprinkled in there as well.
As a side, they did also make a single hotfix to the disconnecting issue for battleground queues in WoW: Classic which is a great fix to apply. Previously, players were facing issues where they would disconnect in the middle of a long battleground queue, which led to them being kicked out of the queue and put back at the start once they relogged. This was infuriating for players that were waiting for extended periods of time, perhaps as long as an hour, just to be kicked right back to the start.
No king rules forever.

But most of these changes are on the modern Battle for Azeroth side of the World of Warcraft world. In Battle of Dazar’alor’s mythic difficulty, Jaina Proudmoore will no drop two Glacial Tidestorm mounts instead of one, doubling the chance. The same tweak was made to N’Zoth on the mythic difficulty of Ny’alotha regarding the Ny’alotha Allseer mount.
Within the horrific visions, Blizzard reduced the health of enemies for groups of two or more that include at least one healer. They also made Alleria’s Darkened Sky drain 40 sanity instead of the previous 60. When the Trade District bonus objective is complete, Chains of Servitude will now only be cast once instead of twice.
In terms of items and rewards, Blizzard made a single fix towards corrupted items. They’ve fixed an issue that prevented items from being forged with the +12 corruption version of Ineffable Truth. In PvP, they’ve replaced the upcoming Teeming Islands Brawl with the Temple of Hotmogu. Additionally, the Temple of Hotmogu Brawl’s bonus movement speed and haste has been increased to 50%.
That’s all the fixes that they have for us today, but it won’t be long before we’re back here discussing more tweaks! Blizzard is constantly making updates to keep the games running smoothly, doubly so in the wake of the big patches that we’ve recently seen, so there will be plenty more changes on the way.
