Players have begun to discover nasty ways to destroy enemies with some sick ally combos in Assassins Creed Shadows – the one that just landed in the world. The developers tweeted some of the most OP combos, and actually, some of these sound downright broken. So let’s break them.
For starters, we got Yaya’s Inner Strength, and this one’s about keeping your squad in for a longer fight rather than survival. Pair this with Ibuki’s Blade of Fujin – basically a one-shot delete button if you time it right – and you’d be facing a combo that’s tanky but deadly. So what am I saying? Who needs to dodge when you can tank everything and whack your enemies with a sword that literally is at the point-blank range of violating the Geneva Convention?
The other one is Gennojo’s Charming Presence. Sounds cute right? Wrong. This messes up the AI of enemies to make them hesitate or turn on each other. Now mix that with Katsuhime’s Bullet Ricochet, and bam – you’ve got chaos; bullets everywhere, enemies shooting each other, and you sit there and think, “Yeah, I made that happen.”
But wait, it gets crazier still. Yagoro’s One with Death is…darkly funny. If an ally goes down, it converts into a ghost that can still swing a few seconds in the game. Now pair it with Oni-yuri’s Poison the Rations. Enemies think they’re safe looting supplies? Nope, surprise poison damage while a ghost stabs them in the back. Very cruel.
Now why don’t a lot of people run these? Because maybe they’re going to solo every single one of them like it’s Dark Souls. But Shadows lives off teamwork, and there is a reason why these combos are not just strong but downright enjoyable. The pricelessness of watching enemies squeal as their own comrades turn against them?
Yes, and okay, no numbers or cool-downs were listed in the tweet, but who cares? It’s all part of the fun: mixing Yaya’s sustain with Yagoro’s ghost gimmick for an unkillable zombie squad, or just go all chaos mode with Gennojo and Katsuhime. That’s what we’re here for!
So stop mashing buttons. If you’re still doing that to get through the fights, stop now. Work these combos instead. So much better as a tactical playground than blows and slashes.
And, by the way, how has nobody made a meme of Oni-yuri poisoning rations with a medieval food critique? Missed opportunity. Anyway, go try these setups before they get nerfed. You’re welcome!
