QubicGames has announced that their upcoming management sim, Barbarous: Tavern of Emyr, is coming to the Nintendo Switch this December.

If you’ve ever wanted to run your own tavern in a high-fantasy setting, the folks at SQRT3 have got you covered with their new game, Barbarous: Tavern of Emyr. You take on the role of the most titular hero, Emyr, who is the most well-known hero in the land. At least, he was the most famous hero in the land, until he was horribly injured and was unable to continue his legendary adventures. To make matters worse, he was put out of commission before he got the chance to face off against his archenemy, a villain so powerful that no other hero is able to defeat him.

Now, Emyr find himself penniless and in charge of a run-down old tavern hoping to make ends meet. Determined to take down his long-time enemy and complete his destiny, Emyr decides to travel the land once more, moving from tavern to tavern along the way. Throw in a teenager girl who shows up claiming to be his daughter, and you’ve got one heck of interesting tale in the making.

Throughout the game, you’ll be tasked with running a variety of different taverns as you travel across the land, hoping to fulfill the prophecy you were born into. The game’s story takes place over the course of sixty levels, each with their own cutscenes that help push the Hero’s story along. If you’ve ever played a restaurant management sim like Diner Dash, you’ll know what to expect from Barbarous: Tavern of Emyr. Gameplay revolves around taking orders and completing them, making sure that you are serving the proper items to the right customers. Take too long, and you’ll have to deal with angry patrons; provide excellent service and you’ll be rewarded with gold and diamonds.

Of course, with the game being set in a fantasy world, you’ll encounter a ton of different kinds of patrons. Everything from packs of dwarves to wood elves, to menacing orcs will walk through the doors of your humble business, each with their own wants and needs to keep them happy. Sometimes, customers simply want a bite to eat, while others are looking for weapons and potions to help them on their own quests. From time to time, you’ll even encounter former friends and enemies from Emyr’s past.

Barbarous: Tavern of Emyr is set for release on Nintendo Swtich on December 25th.
