According to Deadline, Obsidian’s Grounded, which is based on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, will have its own animated series.

Along with the development studio, Bardel Entertainment, which worked on Rick and Morty and Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny, is in charge of production.

Additionally, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebel’s screenwriter Brent V. Friedman will work on this project.

According to the report, the show would take place in the same world as the game and follow four friends who learn how to use a technology that shrinks them down to the size of an inch. They find out about a corporate scheme that is endangering their hometown as they struggle to survive in the backyard.

The adaptation will be penned by Brent Friedman of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It will be directed by Brien Goodrich, who previously worked on the Halo video game series.

Grounded adds to the list of Xbox properties that have been adapted, joining shows like this year’s Halo television series, which has already been given a second season renewal. As for other Microsoft products, we are aware that Fallout, Minecraft, and other titles are getting versions.

Obsidian said in June that Grounded would be launched in September after spending the last two years in Game Preview and Early Access.

Four kids who have reduced in size are forced to protect their property from pests by making and erecting fortifications in the cooperative survival game. It can also be played alone.

When the game is released, all 12 upgrades that were made during production will be included, and the upper yard will be accessible.

For $39.99, Grounded will be made accessible on PC via Steam and Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, it comes free with an Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass membership.
