Warhorse Studios released their official modding tools for Kingdom Come: Deliverance towards the end of 2019. The game is considered complete at this point, but fans can continue creating new content.
Recently, Warhorse Studios released its seventh Scripting Tutorial.
The scripting tutorials all provide a guide on how to make custom content in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Players can follow each step of the tutorial and combine them to learn a complete lesson, but not a functioning mod.
The tutorials are for newcomers with some basic programming knowledge. The lessons cover the basic principles of scripting, interactions with NPCs, and quest scripting.
The content may be too advanced for beginners to modding, so some prior programming knowledge is necessary. Warhorse Studios is also active on YouTube and have posted replies to questions regarding the tutorials. Any questions related to a sequel or other projects go unanswered since the main topic of the video is to help gamers with their modding endeavors.
Additional details are available on the Scripting Tutorial wiki on Nexus mods, where the modding tools are currently available.
The seventh tutorial covers “Synchronization, Locks, and AreaPresence.” The overall goal is to have “2 NPCs placed in an area keep synchronizing and wave at each other at the same time in random intervals. Other entities can enter and leave the area, and the 2 NPCs react to these events.”
There are nine steps for modders to follow. There are extras included, such as making the script save/load proof and having multiple NPCs work together to complete a script.
The eighth lesson includes items, IncludeTree, Animation Slave Objects, and Behavior Cleanups. The lesson is already available on the wiki, but another video will be available soon.
When players complete the seventh tutorial, there’s plenty of content and multiple DLC available for the game. According to the Steam summary: “You’re Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Thrust into a raging civil war, you watch helplessly as invaders storm your village and slaughter your friends and family. Narrowly escaping the brutal attack, you grab your sword to fight back. Avenge the death of your parents and help repel the invading forces!”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released in February 2018. The game is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
