Now, after many years since the first season debuted in 2012, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series is available. This edition includes an amazing 23 episodes. That’s a lot of content and gripping storylines to dive head-first into. The Definitive Series can be purchased through The Epic Games and Microsoft stores. It’s an incredible value given how much is included in each episode.

In addition to these 23 episodes, developer commentary and a short documentary have been included. They’re great if you’re looking to understand the inspiration for these games over the years. You get to hear from the talented team at Telltale Games, and re-live some of their favorite moments making this impactful series. Additionally, a black graphic mode will be included for those who want gameplay that’s a little more like the comic books.

All in all, this Definitive Series is a great pickup. There are over 50 incredible hours of gameplay. It’s amazing to see the developers improve upon each season. It felt like you were watching the actual television series take place. It’s rather easy to fall in love with the characters, too. Some of the stories coincide with each other while others go in a completely different direction. It’s a great design that keeps the story fresh. You’re constantly in the shoes of survivors trying to make it through the zombie apocalypse.

If you’re not familiar with the series, these games focus around simple mechanics. You’ll walk around looking for clues and fight off zombies using directed controls. It’s not the most advanced gameplay, but the controls are serviceable. They’re constructed with an emphasis on story, which is why a lot of gamers come to these Telltale games in the first place.
