We still have a ways to go before the release of next-gen consoles from both Sony and Microsoft, but the buzz is building. Gamers are stoked about the possibilities that await in terms of revolutionary graphics, incredible console specs, and exclusive games.

So far, we’ve seen what the Xbox Series X will look like and know a lot about its specs. Sony has revealed spec information on the PS5 and the design of the controller, but have kept everyone in the dark about the console’s actual look. It seems they want to keep their cards close to their chest as to generate hype.

What we do know about both consoles, though, is they’re getting the psychological thriller Observer. The studio Bloober Team made this official this past Thursday, which has gotten a lot of next-gen console purchasers enthusiastic about the offerings at launch.

It’s coming out later this year and according to the developer, will have upgraded visuals, gameplay, and even story. These upgrades make sense considering Observer is being introduced on next-gen consoles with more advanced technology. Now, those who’ve played through this thriller back in 2017 will have the chance to do it again with upgrades aspects.

And for those who’re not familiar with this game, they’ll get to experience a definitive version of the gripping and mysterious tale. Observer made its debut — as mentioned earlier — in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. At the time, it was highly regarded for its story and visuals. It lets you take on the role of Dan Lazarski, who’s just become an Observer. It’s a new type of neural police.

You’ll get to hack into the minds of the insane and explore the depths of their insanity in a novel fashion. Right away, this game gives off Minority Report vibes. In the movie, the main protagonist — Tom Cruise — was able to use state-of-the-art mind-reading technology to predict murders before they even happened.

You get to use the same technology to figure out cases that can’t be solved with traditional forms of detective work. If you like Cyberpunk themes and a world where technology controls society in novel ways, then Observer definitely has a lot to offer.

Being able to check it out on the PS5 or Xbox Series X should give you even more incredible gaming experiences to look forward to. There aren’t a lot of title confirmations for both consoles at this current time, so it’s great to see Observer added to the list.
