Street Fighter 6 enters the battlefield on June 5, to be teased with a Fighting Pass oozing with nostalgia. Aptly called “Get Ready for Elena!”, it’s basically a ray of sunshine for Street Fighter III, doling out avatar gear inspired by these fan favorites: Yun, Yang, Q, Remy, and Oro. And stickers, oh yes! After all, what would a fighting game be without some accidental sticker spam between combos?
So, why is this so special? Well, Elena ain’t just some dollop of DLC; she’s another legacy fighter making a huge comeback after her absence in Street Fighter V. Her capoeira style, that so-called healing super, she is either your main or that one matchup you just loathe. There is no in-between. And, Capcom knows SFIII reps have been much requested amongst fans. Think of it like a hype train conductor for the pass.
And this is where the avatar gear comes in. Drip worthy from Yun and Yang? Sure. Q’s gangster trench coat vibes? Great for pass-off as a walking NPC. And Oro… whatever Oro wears? Why not? It’s all cosmetic, but come on, half the battle is looking cooler than your opponent before pulverizing them.
Stickers will be the crowning delight; surely a few will feature other SFIII faces, like Dudley, Makoto, or even Twelve (remember him? No? Okay.). Whether you ever use the stickers or just hoard them like digital trading cards is entirely up to you.
The timing is perfect-a cunning maneuver from Capcom. Set to drop shortly before Elena soars very high, the players can grind for goodies counting down to the release itself. Smart. Or evil. Depends on how much you hate battle passes.
And hey, if you still are wavering about Street Fighter 6, maybe this should push you off that literal fence. This game’s already lined up with so much SFIII fanservice for the deep dive.
So就set your alarm for June 5ssh, prep your combos, and get ready to heal-spam your way to fame-and-glory. Or coolness while losing, though.
Hey hey, and if you see someone in Q gear on day one, high chances it’s me! Don’t tag me.
