Square Enix has announced limited edition Trials of Mana consoles for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The consoles were posted on the developer and publisher’s official Twitter account for the game.
Unfortunately, the consoles may be in extremely limited supply. Square Enix has announced the consoles they featured will be contest prizes. It’s unknown if they will be sold separately.
Trials of Mana is the newest entry in the Mana series.
Trials of Mana is a 3D remake and modern revival of the third game in the Secret of Mana series, known as Seiken Densetsu 3.
The new game has graphical improvements, along with character voiceover support, a remastered soundtrack, and a brand new episode that takes place after the ending.
Trials of Mana also has an ability system plus a new class and restructured character leveling system. The battles have also become more active.
“When the world was shrouded in darkness, the Goddess of Mana drew forth the Sword of Mana to smite the eight Benevodons, monsters of destruction. She sealed the horrors inside the eight Mana Stones, bringing the realm back from the brink. Weakened from rebuilding the world, the Goddess changed herself into a tree and fell into a deep sleep for many years. However, the forces of evil soon sought to free the Benevodons to gain control of the world. They started a terrible war to further their plot and destabilize the kingdoms. Peace was at an end. Mana itself began to disappear from the world and the Mana Tree started to wither…” states the official game summary.
A demo of the game is now available on Steam. Players will start off from the start of the journey, meet new companions, and then challenge Fullmetal Hagger. The save data from the demo can be transferred into the main game.
Those who pre-register the game or buy it before May 21 will receive the Rabite Adornment DLC and a downloadable Trials of Mana wallpaper.
For more details on how to enter, players can follow the @ManaSeries official Twitter account. Square Enix partnered with Funimation for the US/Canada award, while Kung-Fu Tea is running the same giveaway but did not list a country restriction.
Trials of Mana is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on April 24.
