Gran Turismo Sport will be releasing a new game update next week. This is according to a post by one of the main men behind the racing simulator PS4 game at Polyphony Digital. Kazunori Yamauchi, the game’s designer, revealed on Twitter the four cars that will be coming next week.
And it’s not your usual rumor, already, the developer has hinted about scheduled maintenance and explicitly mentioned that an update will follow.
“At the following time, we will perform maintenance on the ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ servers. A new game update will also be available after the maintenance. Please note that during this time the online services, including [Sport Mode], will not be available,” read the developer’s new post.

It’s not the first time Yamauchi leaks some credible information about Gran Turismo Sport. He’s the same guy that leaked the additional wet weather tracks that came with the GT Sport update 1.43 in August.
In the new update, four cars will be coming on board. Yamauchi, on Twitter, posted a photo of the four vehicles and though they were not so clear, car enthusiasts have agreed on which models they are. Also, a Polyphony insider has confirmed this.
The first car is a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 1971, dubbed the Daytona, which is remembered for sweeping the 1967 Daytona 24-Hour Race. Second is a Dodge Coronet Super Bee 1970. The other two cars are Chevrolets – a 959 Corvette StingRay Racer Concept, and a modern Camaro, probably the ZL1 1LE.
The last update was released early this month. Called Gran Turismo Sport 1.44 Update, it came with just a few fixes and no noteworthy content. But for the upcoming update, there’s more than just the four cars.
It’s highly likely that we’ll see a new track in the upcoming update. This is to complement the latest cars, and also, to stay up to date with the current developments. It’s also likely that the update will also feature a new wet weather track, probably the Tokyo Expressway East which was showcased at a recent World Tour event at Salzburg’s Hangar-7.
In addition to the new content, Polyphony Digital might also release a few fixes and tweaks to improve the game.
Gran Turismo Sport has been available on PS4 from 2017. But you can still catch all the action on your PC courtesy of PlayStation Now. This is Sony’s cloud gaming subscription service.
