NIS America and Granzella Inc. have released a new gameplay trailer for the worldwide release of Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories. The game was previously released only in Japan but will be released outside the country this Summer.
The trailer showcases some of the events players will experience in the game, such as escaping dangerous situations or helping others.
“When a massive earthquake strikes the city you’re visiting, you find yourself at the epicenter of a chaotic and catastrophic crisis. It’s up to you to rise above the calamity, gather your thoughts and your fellow survivors, and outlast the disaster. Aftershocks, fires, collapsing buildings and debris, and unstable ground are but a few of the threats you’ll face in these nightmarish circumstances.” states the Steam store summary.
Players will choose between two customizable protagonists. The main character is visiting the city when an earthquake strikes.
The official website also lists some of the characters that players will meet during gameplay, such as a malicious opportunist trying to profit from disaster victims to a distressed high school teacher looking for her missing students.
The series aims at having the player make difficult decisions. They help one person, but that victim may hurt someone else. If the player does the right thing, then they’re rewarded with bonus items, such as new outfits. In previous games, additional DLC has also been released to show what has happened to certain characters after the disaster has ended. The ultimate effects they have depends on the player’s decision.
The Disaster Report series features realistic events that have occurred around the world. The games star a protagonist who tries to reach safety while helping others along the way.
NIS America has also announced a Limited Edition for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. It comes with the base game, the official soundtrack on a CD, ID tag, and “First Aid” collector’s box that does not contain emergy supplies, all inside of a backpack. Stock for the product is currently between 11%-25%, so interested players should pre-order it now.
The PC specifications are not yet available on Steam.
Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories is scheduled to launch on April 7 for PC, PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch.
