There is some pretty big news here for those mega fans of one of the greatest gaming experiences of all time, yes, that’s right: I am talking about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It turns out that there are all kinds of professional modders out there, and they specialize in creating all kinds of really cool and awesome things for games all over the world. They end up doing some pretty wild stuff in the long-run, so check it out.

One of these big-time modders, who goes by the name Kaze Emanuar, ended up creating a brand new dungeon for the wild game we all know as Ocarina of Time. It goes something like this: Kaze ripped a level out of Mario for the Nintendo 64 and rebuilt it so it would exist as a wholly new level within the game. That is absolutely crazy if you think about it.

If you know anything about this sort of thing, you know it takes a whole of work to make it happen. We are talking about taking pieces from one game and putting it wholesale within the world of another. That’s really hard.

Anyway, some of the same parts of the Ocarina of Time game showed up in the dungeon, of course, there are things like treasure chests, and enemies, and all the rest. So it isn’t like it is a Mario game inside of the Legend of Zelda. Instead, it’s more like a bunch of out of place pieces inside Hyrule. That is totally and incredibly crazy, and every big fan of the game should look forward to giving it a try some time.

Kaze ended up naming the thing the “Shifting Sand Dungeon” because it fits that aesthetic a little bit. The thing is housed in a giant pyramid and looks like one of the coolest things you’ve ever seen. But maybe it can end up fitting in logically with a Gerudo storyline or something.

Anyway, if you have never played the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, this would be a great chance to dive right in. If you do not own a Nintendo 64, there are always emulators. (But be warned–that’s technically illegal.) Anyway, good luck to all my good friends and fellow young cosmonauts.
