Cyberpunk 2077 is approaching its release date. While gamers are most interested in CD Projekt Red’s new game, companies are releasing related merchandise.
Sideshow Collectibles previously announced they were working with CDPR for future projects, which may be related to high-quality statues.
“Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you. ” states the official product pages.
At the end of 2019, McFarlane Toys announced they were working with CDPR to release action figures. These toys would be both high-quality but also at a lower price point than Sideshow Collectible’s statues.
Currently, there are three products to choose from. There are two versions of Keanu Reeve’s character Johnny Silverhand in 7″ or a 12″ statue. There is also a 7″ figure of the male version of the protagonist V.
All of the figures have 22 different moving parts and are completely poseable. From the product pages, Silverhand comes with a base with the official Cyberpunk 2077 logo, bag, gun, and guitar. V is packaged with a gun as well as a pink sword.
The 12″ statues are immobile. The 12″ Silverhand figure has the character in his “Chrome Rock Concert pose” from the game. Unfortunately, he’s not packaged with any additional accessories.
It’s currently unknown if there are plans to create a figure for the female version of V. McFarlane Toy has also not expressed if they’ll produce any merchandise of any other characters from the game.
The product pages states the figures will be available at Gamestop and Walmart.
A release date hasn’t been released, but preorders for the Cyberpunk figures are available now. The Gamestop page lists the products as available on March 1st. Walmart’s product page only states it ships on Thursday, April 9th, which is more than one month after Gamestop’s release date.
The figures will likely be released around the game’s launch on April 16 for gamers to display in their homes while they play CDPR’s newest game.
