If you’ve wanted to take part in some mafia action — throwing around muscle for ultimate control — then the Mafia series was your best bet for enjoying these types of experiences. This series has gone on to achieve a cult-like following over the years, and judging by everything these games offer, it’s not hard to see why.
If you’ve played through all three, you’ve probably been excited about the continuation of the series. A fourth installment is probably coming down the pipe sooner rather than later, but while fans wait, they can check out the remastered editions of Mafia 2 and 3.
If you’ve pre-ordered Mafia: Trilogy or plan on doing so before August 28, then you can now officially access Mafia 2 and 3 Remastered. This news was broke by publisher 2K Games just recently, which is pretty incredible because the Mafia: Trilogy was just announced.
It seems like the publisher wants to give Mafia die-hards some definitive experiences to enjoy before the trilogy is officially available. The editions are available on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
It’s also worth mentioning that those who already own the original version of Mafia 3 will be able to pick up the remastered version free of charge on the aforementioned platforms.
It’s clear. Now’s a great time to be a Mafia fan. The series is once again receiving a lot of spotlight, featuring better visuals and performance. If you’ve always wanted a definitive experience with these games, now’s your chance to see what improvements have been made.
And for those who have yet to play any Mafia game, the remastered trilogy is worth picking up. You’ll get to experience a lot of amazing things centered around crime and gangs. Each one of the installments features a compelling story and an amazing cast of characters. That’s pretty hard to find in action games today.
A lot of times, you’ll find characters lacking depth and you don’t feel a lot of weight to the story. That’s not the case at all with the Mafia games. Additionally, their gameplay is fantastic.
You’ll get to enjoy competent shooting mechanics that aren’t overly difficult to master right away. It will be amazing to see how the HD versions look running on advanced consoles and PC units.
August 28 is still a couple of months away, but it’s nice that the publisher isn’t making loyal fans wait. Now’s the perfect time to dive back in to the series or experience it for the first time.
