It’s a first-person action game that thrusts players right into emergencies firefighters face every day.

Real Heroes: Firefighter originally came out in 2009 for the Nintendo Wii. It was also re-released in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS, and in 2017 with a remastered version PC.

The Nintendo Switch is getting this game with updated graphics, but with the same game mechanics and plotline.

Here is a gameplay video of Real Heroes: Firefighter:

This game gives a player the point-of-view of a firefighter. They will perform actions that these real-life heroes do, like fight fires and rescuing those that are trapped in a dangerous situation.

The Switch gamer will play as a recent graduate who is just starting at a big city fire station. There, the player will learn how to use the tools of the trade, including a firehose, an ax and saw, and a hydraulic spreader.

Once the player learns how to be successful in saving those in need and extinguishing blazes, they will be sent into the field.

The player must perform tasks duirng the fire to ultimately extinguish it and save the day, like sealing vats in a building, closing main valves, and searching for trapped people.

The game mechanics are simple. It’s a first-person game, and the player will use a variety of tools to perform tasks during the emergency. Missions will guide the player during the fire as they communicate with their fire chief.

There is a cursor to aim with when blasting the firehose. An ax symbol will pop up when the gamer aims their cursor at something that is breakable, like a window.

The UI is quite simple. The mission objective will pop up in the top left corner of the screen, a map of the area is in the top right, the cursor is in the middle, and the dialogue box is at the bottom.

The fire’s behavior is AI-based, meaning that it will be sporadic. The firefighter won’t be able to calculate its timing, making it even more dangerous, just like real-life. The gamer will play through Career Mode, which features over nine levels and many different maps.
