Even though Sony hasn’t yet officially announced a sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, we know one is coming at some point after the PlayStation 5 releases next holiday season. But for now, the only new Horizon-based content that’s coming in the foreseeable future won’t be in video game form.

Titan Comics recently announced that the first installment to the Horizon Zero Dawn comic book series will be released next year. The comic book won’t be a prequel to the events of the game, but rather, the series will be set immediately after the events of the first game. So, it’ll likely feature a ton of content that’ll be prominent in Horizon Zero Dawn 2.

After announcing the comic book project, Titan Comics released the following statement regarding their upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn release.

“Talanah, Sunhawk of the Hunters Lodge, struggles to find purpose after Aloy, her trusted friend, disappears. When a mysterious new threat emerges in the wilds, she returns to her roots as a hunter to defeat it, only to learn that a whole new breed of mechanized killers stalks the land.”

If you still haven’t played Horizon Zero Dawn, then Sony just announced that it’ll be joining the PlayStation Now lineup next month along with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. So, if you’re a subscriber to the PS Now service, you can play one of the best open-world games of the current generation for no additional cost.

Horizon is packed with content, as Guerrilla Games’ first crack at an open-world game will take players between 50 and 70 hours to complete, not including its single-player expansion titled The Frozen Wilds.

Even though the Horizon franchise is owned by Sony, there’s a rumor going around that the game is coming to the PC in February of next year. As of right now, the rumor hasn’t been confirmed, but if the game is coming to the PC early next year, then there should be an official announcement soon.

The Horizon Zero Dawn to PC rumor began after YouTube user Anton Logvinov reported it earlier this month. Again, since it hasn’t been confirmed by anyone, the rumor should be taken with a grain of salt.

It’s no secret that Horizon Zero Dawn 2 will be a big part of the PlayStation 5, and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see it be a launch title for Sony’s next-generation console, which is currently scheduled to be released next winter.
