It was truly the tweet of the century, as the VALORANT team closed the night flexing while the internet treated them well. A tantalizing caption gave birth to “IN OUR GOLDEN ERA,” attaching a video link to an apparent hype rap track featuring Valyn, Leaf, Jawgemo, JonahP, and Trent bar for bar, as if they were in a joint and were not inside the server. And the reaction must be imagined to consider.
The clip sent shockwaves through the VALORANT community as G2 rapped a track worthy of hot beats, hotter than the Judge shotgun round. The replies are coming in from players and fans, with some calling it a “diss track,” while others are vibing with it. One user, @Rennysix, joked, “Hope ya retakes are better than your rap bars,” which—ouch, but also, fair.
Meanwhile, not everybody is sold on this golden era of G2. “What golden era, Tejo got nerfed, trent is about to sell that M3 to buy lunch,” fired back @fomaonze. Harsh. However, most of these replies are pure hype, with @cecefps shrieking, “THIS GOES SO HARD WTF,” and @spichyit posting the only acceptable reaction: “Sheeessshhhh🥶.”
And now that the very question everyone is actually asking, “When is the G2 versus Fnatic rap battle going down?” was dropped by @WombieTheZombie. Honestly? We need that. The VALORANT scene is competitive enough already. Imagine the teams settling beefs with rap battles instead of clutches.
International love does exist, though: “krl kkkkkkkk vão copar é tudo,” sighed the Brazilian @alfonso_arthur, translating approximately to an extremely hopeful, “LMAO y’all are gonna win it all.” The energy is worldwide; the bars are too; the memes have started writing themselves.
Not everyone is jiving with it, though. “@OuterHyperion” threw some shade and queried, “Wonder if Bren will like this one?😭” (Can’t talk about the strongest critic we know for the VALORANT scene, aka Bren). But at least, if G2 ain’t about this rap ting, somebody woke the community.
One-thousand-percent can attest to the entertainment these guys provide on Twitter, whether it’s hard plays or wild bangers. So if this is their divinely-started “golden era,” what could possibly be next?
So, with that said, we will be on repeat till the next VCT. 🔥
