Square Enix has launched a fairly mammoth sale on the Final Fantasy franchise collection on Steam, and gamers all around are going crazy- some in joy and some with frustration. The sale is a blend of older and newer JRPGs for this very legendary series, but the replies are the real drama. People are begging for remakes, complaining about missing content, and outright bashing Square Enix marketing.

First off. It is a pretty solid sale: Pixel remasters, all the way to FFXVI; yet, gamers are not here to buy games. These people are fighting on which FF really is the GOAT. Another user, “Eternal_JRPG_Dragon,” mentioned their favorites: “FFVII, FFX, FFXVI, FFVI, FFXIII, FFIX.” “Obviously IX then IV,” said Ismael. That cold take was from Corey Mckee, though: “Digital is garbage. Got my physical copy of the original 6 games. All i need.” Ouch.

Then the begging for remakes. So. Much. Begging. Eric outright asked, “I don’t see the Final Fantasy IX remake for sale 🙁,” while Galimaties stated it was their favorite… even though it doesn’t exist yet? Meanwhile, Ricardo94224187 was demanding, “Final fantasy 8 remake now,” and Chris_Brum96 challenges the developers: “Make a decent port for FF XIII and I’ll buy it, I dare you.” The Square Enix fanbase sure know how to bully.

The weirdest responses are true attacks on Square’s very strange marketing. “Who the fuck is your art director and what year you guys in? 2005?” asked Golllaqa, with Pod coming in with: “The graphic is misleading 🤨.” It’s like Square Enix cannot catch a break.

Some, meanwhile, are living the life. Juunibug: “Been replaying FFX and remembering why it’s my favorite. Even the beginning had me tearing up again.” Then CalebByRamen has some more ideas for a game pitch: “Please make a Final Fantasy IV prequel on the Lunarian home world. A ‘Retro Pixel’ line of Final Fantasy games would selllll.” Square Enix needs to hire this guy.

And the totally random side chat. The selfies come from YunalesckaGames alongside: “Gotta show my shit including me which is an object ☺️☺️,” and “You’re so dope!” is Randomdude08’s reply. What does that have to do with Final Fantasy? Well, who cares? It’s funny.

Bottom line- somewhat chaotic, nostalgic, and demanding-goes this way the sale. Whether concerning reliving the kids’ days or yelling at Square Enix to patch their ports, one of those is crystal-clear-the Final Fantasy fans have passion. Excuse me while I go and check if FFIX really is that good or not.
