Game developers will be doing a second beta test, which starts on the 19th of September. The team will be testing the Crossplay MP feature across various devices. Similar to the previous weekend, pre-orders either for PC or Xbox will be able to get early access to the beta version of the game from September 19 to 20. The Crossplay Multiplayer game will be rolled out on all platforms from September 21 to 23.

Infinity Ward’s creative director and co-studio head, Patrick Kelly said that the primary objective of Modern Warfare is, “bring all gamers together from day one to play together.” He also stressed that pre-orders will be as good as the season pass and there would be free maps and tons of content after the game’s launch.

The Crossplay MP feature of Modern Warfare is something unique to this version. It will be on live-testing as of writing and fans can access the functionality during the Beta release. Several reports have been released that the game will be using “input matchmaking.” This is similar to what Fortnite uses, matching players based on the device they are using. For example, players using Xbox will only be partied with friends using the same platform and so with PC and PS4 users.

Kelly explained that the Beta release will be “a new day for Call of Duty multiplayer” and hinted that it’s just the beginning. The Creative Director promised to bring in more updates about the game and said more interesting reveals will be coming in the next days.
