Earlier this week, The Gaming Revolution, who is generally a reliable leaker when it comes to all things Activision, reported that there are several remakes and remasters in the works at Activision, one of which is a remake of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.

In a follow-up to his original report, The Gaming Revolution said that the Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex remake will be Activision’s next big release, although he didn’t provide a release date window. If his report is correct, then the game will likely be released in the next few months, so if that’s the case, then you should expect to see it get announced soon.

There’s also another Crash Bandicoot title in the works at Activision, and according to The Gaming Revolution, it’s a PvP title. Other than saying that it’ll be available on consoles, PC, and mobile devices, no additional details were provided by the trustworthy leaker, but he says that the game is still in its early stages of development, which means we probably won’t hear any further details about it for a while.

“The Crash PvP game is still in its early days and is expected to release in 2021 (although could change). It will also be available on console, PC & mobile!”

The Crash Bandicoot PvP game may end up being a new Crash Team Racing, as the remake of the original game, Nitro-Fueled, ended up being a huge success. Of course, earlier in the year, Activision announced the final Grand Prix for the CTR remake, so they could be gearing up for another kart racer, which could end up being titled Nitro-Fueled 2.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled ended up being the second-best-selling game of the month (June 2019) after it was released, as its sales numbers were topped by Super Mario Maker 2. It also had the most successful launch of any Crash Bandicoot title in history, including the N’Sane Trilogy, which was released two years earlier.

Turning to nostalgia has proven to be an effective method for Activision, as all of their remakes have been successful thus far. The Wrath of Cortex is just one of many remakes in development according to The Gaming Revolution, who has reported that Activision is remaking Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, which will feature assets from the first three games, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which will probably be released alongside the follow-up to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
