Bandai Namco is finally dropping its newest video game, Code Vein, on September 27. However, its release may not be successful without its fans’ blood.
To make a meaningful launch, the developer partnered with the American Red Cross in the conduct of a blood-letting activity. This is a smart and noble way of introducing the vampire-themed title among the anticipating gamers.
In exchange for their blood donation, the participants can get a copy of the game for free. In short, it will be a win-win situation for both the organizers and the gamers.
Interested donors may visit the Gas Lamp Square at 170 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, California, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. during the release date of Code Vein.
Earlier this month, the trial version of the action role-playing game was made available for different consoles. This was done more than 20 days before its actual availability for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
It is worth noting that the release date of the game was pushed to a later date for a couple of times. In April 2017, Bandai Namco announced about its arrival in September 2018. But, this did not happen. It was explained that it still needed some polishing back then. The developer still had to improve the gameplay, particularly the characters, missions, patches, and gears.
Amid the postponement, fans could be expecting more from Code Vein. They could have been creating visuals in their mind that would make it something worthy to look forward to.
In mid-2017, the game’s director, Hiroshi Yoshimura, revealed some details about the so-called anime version of Dark Souls. He pointed out that there is more to it compared to the latter. Among the features he mentioned are the following:
- It highlights a story that injects a “unique flavor” into the narrative. As such, it is an RPG that adopts a dungeon action genre.
- It is set in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires can only survive if they consume enough blood.
- Once the vampires do not have enough supply of blood, they end up becoming ghouls. In the game, they are called Lost, the allies-turned-enemies.
- With the increasing number of vampires, players need to face more Lost characters to beat.
- The one-on-one battles are not easy to win because they are highly intense. Thus, it takes a skilled gamer to come out a victor.
