Even though neither Activision or Infinity Ward have officially announced Call of Duty: Warzone, which is reportedly the title for Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale expansion, all signs seem to suggest that it’ll be released soon, and like Apex Legends and Fortnite, it’ll be free to play, meaning that you don’t have to own the base game to download and play the BR expansion.

The latest rumor regarding Call of Duty: Warzone comes courtesy of The Gaming Revolution, who is generally reliable when it comes to COD leaks. According to the renowned COD YouTuber, Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale expansion will be announced on Tuesday, March 3, and the reveal will be paired with a release date, which will be one week later on Tuesday, March 10. Of course, it’ll be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and given that Modern Warfare is capable of crossplay, it’s pretty safe to assume that Warzone will also feature crossplay.

The Gaming Revolution’s report comes just a few days after Video Games Chronicle reported that Call of Duty: Warzone will be released in early-March, likely March 10. So, we have heard the date before, but it seems even more likely now that TGR has echoed the VGC report.

In recent weeks, Activision has been taking action against YouTubers who have been leaking information regarding the Warzone Battle Royale, which pretty much confirms that it’s in development and that the leakers are providing accurate information regarding the mode, its map, and when it’ll be released.

As previously mentioned, Infinity Ward hasn’t confirmed the Warzone Battle Royale, but a few days ago, they changed the “Classified” section in Modern Warfare, and now when you’re in the MW menus, the aforementioned section says “Incoming Transmission.”

Since before the game released last October, there have been a ton of rumors surrounding a possible Battle Royale expansion, one of which claims that the player count in Warzone will be double what traditional BR modes are capable of, as it’s rumored to be capable of hosting up to 200 players per match.

If the mode is going to be released on March 10, then we should get a ton of information about it from the developers during or after the rumored March 3 reveal. But, given that most of the leakers have been hit with copyright strikes from Activision in recent weeks, we probably won’t learn anything new about the mode after it’s revealed, as Infinity Ward will likely confirm what we already know.
