Blizzard is hard at work pushing out content for both versions of World of Warcraft at this point. While much of the highlight rests on the retail version of the MMORPG with World of Warcraft: Shadowlands fast approaching, there’s still plenty to see on Classic.
Recently, we discussed the testing that the developers began as the next phase of endgame pushes closer for Classic. Blizzard began testing the Military Quarter of the Naxxramas raid earlier this week to hone in on any fixes they need to do.
Naxxramas is set to be the final raid of the Classic lifespan, with a great deal of discussion around what comes next for the title. While Blizzard works towards deciding if they intend to release a Burning Crusade version of Classic, players are focused on what’s still to come.
The newest phase of testing for Naxxramas is focused on the Arachnid Quarter, one of the four wings of Naxxramas leading up to the final boss. With the Military Quarter tested, the Arachnid Quarter is set to undergo the same treatment.
Like the Military Quarter test, Blizzard has scheduled this for 2:00 p.m. PDT – 6:00 p.m. PDT. The test is set for Friday, October 16th on the client’s PTR realms.
Three bosses are available for testing in total during this time period. Anub’Rekhan, Grand Widow Faerlina, and Maexxna all wait for players to come and fight them to ensure that the mechanics of the fight are set properly.
To be clear, this is not a beta, nor is this set on an enjoyable, playable experience. Blizzard explicitly wants players to test the mechanics and encounter bugs and glitches, so don’t go into the PTR expecting to get to have a ball with the content before anyone else!
Blizzard also warns that they could cancel or change the tests at any moment to suit the purposes of whatever they need tested. More than anything, they need players to use the in-game bug reporter to send in any issues or begs so that they can fix it as soon as possible.
To enter the raid zone, find an NPC named Johnny McWeaksauce (yes, seriously) in Light’s Hope Chapel. He can immediately teleport players to Naxxramas with attunement to allow them entry, with his brother Jimmy selling consumables and reagents within the Raid.
Players are given an aura that provides a strong increase to health and damage to help them overcome the challenges of the raid, with the mechanics needing testing more than balance. Once properly equipped, simply head down the Arachnid Quarter and start wailing on some bosses to see how well they work.
