CE-Asia’s Banner of the Maid was formally announced in 2018, but not for English-speaking audiences. CE-Asia recently announced they were releasing the game in English next month.

Banner of the Maid is a strategy-based RPG starring Pauline Bonapart, the younger sister of Napoleon Bonapart.

The YouTube description from CE-Asia states: “Banner of the Maid is a tactical role-playing game based on the famous French Revolution, with a twist of fictional fantasy elements. You will be playing as Pauline Bonaparte, a newly-graduated girl from military academy, who is always dreaming of earning herself a position in the upper class. In a journey of visiting her brother Napoleon Bonaparte, Pauline was accidentally dragged into a revolutionary storm in France.”

Banner of the Maid features other characters from history, such as Marie Antoinette, Joséphine de Beauharnais, Louis Charles Antoine Desaix, Jean Lannes, and more.

For those who like their history-based titles to be faithful, Banner of the Maid makes it clear that the game takes place in an alternate version of the French Revolution.

On Steam, CE-Asia detailed the efforts it took to release the game in English. There are more than 300,000 words that were translated by Azure Flame Studio. The game went through an extensive beta to ensure the game was ready for public release.

The Steam version of the game contains nineteen achievements. There is only one DLC pack so far for Miss Elisa, a journalist investigating Pauline Bonaparte. The DLC has five new stages to complete after the Main Quests, and they’re all more difficult than other levels. It’s unknown if there will be other DLC packs in the future.

In honor of the game’s upcoming English release, CE-Asia has created an official Discord server for its Chinese and English speaking fans. Players can use the server to connect with other fans, post fan creations, and discuss the title in-depth. CE-Asia is also active on Facebook and Twitter to answer any additional questions about the English release of the game.

The title was released in 2018 for PC and consoles but only in Traditional and Simplified Chinese. The Chinese version is available now via Steam for PC players who want an early look.
