Some of the franchise’s most beloved characters will return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Several well-known personalities, including Captain Price, “Soap” MacTavish, and Simon “Ghost” Riley, are anticipated to appear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Naturally, some of these cherished characters have changed the events of the previous game, notably Captain Price, who has been a part of the franchise since the release of the first Call of Duty in 2003.

As part of adding new characters to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare franchise, Alejandro Vargas will be one of the most significant. Although there is still plenty unknown about Vargas’ role in the narrative, creator Infinity Ward has now published a new video that gives some insight into this new character and the creative process of making him.

While a large number of details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer have surfaced, including the leak of a map named Farm 18 that will be included in the beta that launches on September 16, not much has been revealed about the game’s campaign, other than the fact that it will take place in 2022 and continue the story of Task Force 141, with new character Vargas joining as its latest recruit.

Although Infinity Ward has been relatively silent regarding plot specifics, it has recently revealed further information about Vargas and provided details on the studio’s method of conceptualizing characters.

Developers from Infinity Ward describe Vargas in detail and how he was built in a TikTok video later shared on Twitter by the official Infinity Ward account. Brian Bloom, the game’s head writer, confirmed that they spoke with Mexican military personnel to make the character as credible as possible. Alain Mesa, the actor who portrays Vargas, says that he thinks the character “had fought many battles in many lifetimes.
