While FIFA 21 will have free support for next-gen upgrades through its Dual Entitlement program, it will be based on the current-gen (Xbox One, PlayStation 4) version of the game not of next-gen (Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5) as confirmed by EA on their official FAQ.

Before explaining how you would be able to play the game on next-gen consoles, let’s address the issue of having to play the same version as released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Speaking of which, that’s so disappointing, especially when it happened in the previous two generations. The first FIFA game dropped for next-gen consoles won’t be ported to PC with EA stating that the average user’s configuration as an obstacle.

As for the innovations that EA confirmed that would feature in PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, here’s the rundown:
