World of Warcraft: Classic is primarily devoid of the dozens and dozens of events that pop up on the modern iteration of the game. While it may lack some of the micro-holidays, Classic has a fan-favorite that has persisted throughout: The Darkmoon Faire!

If you’re unfamiliar somehow, the Darkmoon Faire is a small carnival neutral to players of both factions. The location alters between Elwynn Forest or Mulgore, making sure that players of all level can access it. It’ll stay for about six days, operating out of Mulgore from February 10th to February 16th. Afterwards, it moves to Elwynn Forest from March 9th to March 15th.

As a note, you should be aware that the neutrality only extends to the NPCs of the faire and how they’ll treat you; if you’re on a PvP realm, there’s no treaty that stops someone of the opposite faction from cutting you down before you can get there.

So what is there to do at the Darkmoon Faire? The greatest attraction is definitely the prizes you can get for turning in Darkmoon Prize Tickets to Gelvas Grimegate. There’s plenty of great little trinkets to get, including a handful of epic-quality items. You can also earn a reputation through turning in the Prize Tickets.

To earn Darkmoon Prize Tickets, you have a handful of options. The most obvious is to complete the small games at the Faire, as well as finishing the handful of quests that the NPCs will give out. If that’s moving too slow for you, though, you can exchange stacks of trade goods with certain members of the Faire – Chronos, Kerri Hicks, Rinling, and Yebb Neblegear to be specific – and receive tickets that way.

You’ll be able to get your fortune told by the famous Sayge, who will give you a buff (and a written fortune) depending on your answers. Additionally, if you happen to have come into contact with a deck of Darkmoon tarot cards, you can exchange a complete deck with Professor Thaddeus Paleo to earn an epic-quality trinket. These trinkets depend on which deck you’re turning in, but each option is powerful.

Classic has been doing well since its release, with the recent addition of endgame content and PvP battlegrounds providing a new dimension of gameplay. It’s certainly a better remake than the disastrous Reforged release that came late last month. At this point, fans of the Warcraft universe are likely happy just to spend a day at the faire.
