2019 is officially over. 2020 is here and that means it’s the perfect time to look back at some of the best-selling games last year on the Steam platform. There were a lot of top performers, including PUBG and Rainbow Six Siege. GTA 5 also did exceptionally well on the Steam platform according to Valve’s recent figures, which comes as no surprise.

Even though this game debuted in 2013, it’s still one of the best open sandbox experiences you can find today. It’s clear there is still a huge demand for this game, which can be attributed to Rockstar Games knowing their target audience well. They always seem to improve upon the series, yet keep elements that have made this franchise go on to see so much commercial success over the years.

Seeing GTA 5 continue to have success just shows how incredible of an action-adventure game it is. The story is probably the best as it has ever been. The three characters are so easy to get behind, whether you take Franklin’s strong-headed disposition or enjoy Trevor Phillips’ descent into madness.

There is something for every type of player and the twists that play out give you all the more reason to enjoy the campaign. As if this portion wasn’t enough, Rockstar Games really hit a home run with GTA Online. It’s the portion that will have you keep coming back time and time again no matter how many years have passed since the 2013 debut.

There literally is so much to do. You can build up a crew and take over different districts. There are also plenty of mini games to play with friends. From tron racing to smash bumper cars, there is never a shortage of activities to keep you entertained.

GTA Online also most recently received a casino update that lets players enjoy some iconic games, including black jack and roulette. If you’re looking for some quick cash, heading to the casino is certainly the way to go.

It’s great to see Rockstar Games continue to support GTA 5. It makes sense that they would too given that there have been no officially announcements of a sequel. The updates help tide fans over until the next big project is released.
