EA Sports just went ahead and published the official #Madden26 99 Club list, but it seems like the Internet is too much of a nuisance about this! From now on, that is the semi-annual reason that the gaming community will go back and forth over player ratings, and this year’s list has seen some very naughty twists that have provoked so much outcry that some players went ALL CAPS for it.

First of all, the 99 Club, for those that may not be familiar, is basically EA saying these are the best in talent in the digital gridiron. But you know what…not everyone agrees on those. There’s Lamar Jackson, there’s Josh Allen, there’s Lane Johnson, and yeah, that one name had people going berserk.

Let us start with the great things: Eagle Nation is hyped because they finally gave Lane Johnson some flowers to dry. That guy has been a beast on O-line for years, and gamers like @Imtherealobama (seriously, that is his handle), were like “Thank God Lane finally gets some recognition.” Enter @alfano83581, who calls him “Steroid boy” and says he does not deserve it. Oof. The trenches might still be undefeated in starting arguments.

Then, we also have Lamar Jackson. MVP he is. Critics, however, say 99 rating is a war crime. @KingThanos02 went on, “Lamar is not a 99. FOH.” While countering, @StiltonGer74577 said Lamar carried the Ravens to the Super Bowl with “no weapons,” which… OK… but then @larson109 fired back with stats showing Lamar wasn’t even very good last year. The receipts were out, and the mess ensued – classic Madden season.

Josh Allen with the 99 rating? That woke up the Bills’ fanbase and their enemies alike. @BQbadazZz called it “crazy” because, and I quote, “the Bills choke every single year.” Harsh, yet fair? Meanwhile, Broncos fans are crying while Pat Surtain II—who some say is the best corner in the league—has been snubbed. @larson109 even tagged EA, “@PatSurtainll was literally just named the best defender in the league. Be better.”

And the slight to Derrick Henry. @7bbell7 pointed out that the King Henry was on the 99 Club last year but forgot about this year, with @JangoFett56 closing the case with a “Too old.”

And the funniest part: this one rating system has made people declare Madden 26 “wack.” @vell_money said not having Pat (Mahomes, presumably) in the 99 Club “shows how ass game gone be.” Meanwhile, some are just plain confused—more power to @_bigwormdoteth asking, “Who is Lane Johnson?” My guy…Google is free.

At birth, however, does any of it really matter? Nah. Will everyone be arguing about it until the game drops? Yes, sir. EA went into this knowing; these ratings are made purposely to stir controversy, and hey, mission accomplished.

If you’re all about the mayhem, then you can sit back and enjoy the view while it unfolds. For any salty players whose guys got snubbed, maybe try to spam EA with tweets even more? Good luck wit that one.
