With the Xbox Game Pass releasing a new Grounded 2 preview, the hype has been genuinely building-which, for reasons unknown, is one sided. The survival-adventure sequel lands on Game Pass on July 29th, and you will find some people dusting off their little shovels to go find a good spot, and some others… Holding back on it.

Well, for one, there is the trailer. It felt like Grounded, truly-szied chaos remains backyard dangers, probably way too many spidersto (we’ll get into that later). The visuals are now clearer, and they tease with an apparently bigger world-“Mystery Character Subject V”-a strange cut out, so you know it: Stimky McGee gave out immediately: “Noticed y’all edited out the ‘Mystery Character Subject V’ this time. 👀” Suspicious. Very suspicious.

But not everyone is buying that. Roxanne (@KittyMeow69EN) threw in the “Yeah.. no thanks,” with Wildbill (@theeeBillDozer) demanding, “Need bog now” (whatever that means). Meanwhile, Frank (@C50_FC) doesn’t really care-except for not having Call of Duty WWII on PC Game Pass. Priorities, man.

Really, it’s the question that’s probably on everyone’s mind, right? Spiders. More importantly, does Grounded 2 have arachnophobia mode, like the first? Dani (@yetihunter13) asked straight-up, and honestly? Valid question. Nobody wants nightmare fuel in 4K.

Then came the hype squad. JohnBond²Man (@JohnBond2man) squeezed out “IM STOKED 🔥🔥🔥,” while Milu (@boehsenichte123) basically drowned the Twitter matrix in heart-eye emojis. An AI account (@ReviewGameDrops) jumped in to amplify the hype by saying “fantastic news.” You know it’s serious when robots are hyped.

And the requests keep coming: Shinada Gaiden (@moonnothot) wants Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 on Game Pass, and… really? Same here. But let’s focus, okay? Grounded 2 is coming.

Anyway, what is this game about? In case you didn’t play the first, Grounded is “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but with suspicious amounts of crafting and existential dread.” You’re tiny; the bugs are enormous, and it’s survival that’s a real pain. The sequel seems to ramp everything up to the nth degree-bigger world, more threats, and presumably a great many embarrassing ways to die.

On July 29th, your century-long wait to see if it lives up to the hype (or cynicism) will end. On the flip-side, it will be for free via Game Pass, so give it a shot, the investment of time is less.

But seriously, Grounded 2 does look like good fun. The first game was a bit rough in spots but captivated the player base with the flood of updates and charm. Hopefully, the sequel holds that momentum and makes for a lot of fun. Just keep arachnophobia mode enabled, though, because for sanity.
