And, well, some people are loving it, whereas grim-faced are those that have exhausted every last V-Buck in trying to get it! The put on sale in the item shop, with this slick design screaming, ‘don’t touch my chug jug,’ in the words of a player.
A huge celebration was given by HYPEX, one of Fortnite’s most respected leakers and content creators, in announcing the item’s arrival in the item shop on Twitter while giving viewers a direct link to buy the skin and his creator code to further support him. The replies were, as expected, chaotic, with the distinct mixture of hype and despair that the Fortnite community is so recognizable for.
Some were quick to grab Ella Slurp, like DWill, who thought she was “pretty cool,” while others, like Dario Aguilar, just looked at their empty V-Bucks wallets in anguish. Then there was Captain_Rudianos, who was gifted the skin by a kind friend but remained salty about missing out on the Shape Up emote. The classic pains of Fortnite.
Unsubscribed viewers, meanwhile, felt a little with Waffles, who said simply, ‘I just don’t love it.’ There were those describing the item shop as ‘buns,’ including spenc2tuff. Meanwhile, about to say, Kix the medic might have been wondering when the Transformers skins were going to return, which seems to be a refrain of Someone-Wants-Something-Different-Swear-Who-Made-This-Look-Identical-to-Another.
The funniest and most seriously intoning reply came from Jinx_SniperGod declaring herself a “leaker” for having predicted Ella Slurp’s price being 800 V-Bucks.

Mostly positive in reception, players such as GabWEB3_0 considered it a “fire skin ngl,” while obiwanmama hype it up with just “Let’s fookin SLURP.”
So now about “Ella Slurp,” will it become new mains for those players? Some, like k9nvict, are already planning to “main ts,” whereas others are still holding out for Master Chief (sorry, Elcacota123). Either way, Epic sure is creating tons of discussion and expenditure, and that’s what they want.
Excuse me, I’m going to check if there’re any V-Bucks left from those impulse buys last week. Oh yeah, did I say—Fortnite skins. They always find a way to pull our wallets apart.
Ella Slurp is a reminder of the never-ending hype, FOMO, and emptying of digital wallets that is the ever-so-average life of Fortnite’s item shop. But hey, at least she looks slick.
