With this NBA 2K26 announcement about the unveiling of the NBA 2K26 Roadmap tomorrow morning, possible reactions could very well go through the whole gamut: some are excited; some are in doubt; and others are outright not buying the game unless it’s a huge change.

Official NBA 2K Twitter gave its little tease about the road map reveal with Twitch Drops and Locker Codes. The replies, however, give a jumbled response. There were the players, like GARCELLx, saying they will host a watch party, coffee and all. Then you got carterclat with the blunt: “We not buying ts.”

It really became the biggest complaint when the roadmap was released without any gameplay shown, KBergRGB said it was “beyond concerning.” Truly so. Releasing a roadmap before gameplay? That’s like putting the cart before the horse-or rather, the microtransactions before the basketball.

And the debate then rose about pre-orders. TTYME2K tried to rally the battalion by asking who already pre-ordered, to which were responses like: “Havent cant afford it” from DETROIT__BALLIN and “Broke af waiting for my next check” from FbzJenor. Even TrapGodTre_ said, “There’s nothing to preorder bro… we haven’t seen anything 😒.”

And then there’s RNG shooting? That never dies away. Ballknowe forcefully demanded, “Reveal the removal of RNG shooting,” because let’s face it, nobody wants their shot success treated like the roll of the dice sort of thing.

The City vs. Old Park debate came up again; the realbink1 was simply pleading for the simple: “Enough with these stupid maps man just give us the same simplicity of 3 parks and an open gym rec center like it used to be 😭 nobody wants a big ass city this isn’t GTA.”

For now, some players remain hopeful for change. Joshlovesjesus7 called NBA 2K25 “a step in the right direction,” but stressed that 2K “needs to listen to the community this year.”

And then there is PunjabiPiccolo with a nuclear counter: “Anyone who buys this shouldn’t be allowed to vote.” Harsh? Probably. But after years of the same complaints-RNG mechanics, overpriced VC, recycled features-you really cannot blame people for losing it.

What next? Tomorrow is the Roadmap drop, and we will find out whether 2K has managed to lure back the skeptics or just turned the spotlight on another year of old gripes. Regardless, popcorn must be on the menu for this show.

If you are aiming for Twitch Drops, then get that alarm up! Good stuff is gone in seconds if history repeats itself.
