Alright Fortnite players, go! Big hype as Mega City is going to make its big arrival in Blitz this month. It’s out on Twitter, really stirring the community up, with all sorts of people already losing it.
First of all, for those who may have forgotten or are new to the game, Mega City was an iconic one in terms of Points of Interest (POI) in Fortnite. Massive; height from grind rails to combat opportunities. Basically, it was the kind of place where you made yourself a legend if you came out alive or got sent back to the lobby in two seconds.
That simple tweet reading “FIRST LOOK: MEGA CITY RETURNING IN BLITZ THIS MONTH” sent the players wild in excitement, followed by a wave of nostalgic reflections. @Scalio_ said, “The best POI to the best mode! huge W,” while @Exposed_Comic kept it short with a mere “Loved that map.”
Well, many other players do not feel very excited about it. And being called lazy for the revival didn’t really help them as @Olking07 said, which sparked a heavy debate in the replies; @godbout_leon responded, “Reviving that no one cares about is just lazy hmm gotta wonder about the things you say online you penguin profile lookin ass.” No, Twitter never disappoints.
An enormous wave of nostalgia looms over this revival. In support, “@Killerx_Hellz” said, “Definitely nostalgic…2 of the best seasons Ive played since I started involved this POI.” To which “@Synphonic” added, “Honestly I would prefer Mega City over Tilted if only they had Mega City in the middle of the map, that POI was too big for no fighting to occur.”
Blitz mode, if you’re not familiar, equates to frantic chaos. Fast storm closure, PvE loot distributed in ludicrous amounts, and the skirmishes often look rather random. The insertion of Mega City? Man! Legend @Wil1619Jeavons put it so well- “Hold up mega city in Blitz could go crazy with the fast gameplay and the grind rails everywhere.”
Maybe they even take feedback from the players, “;O IAmLiaJ” tweeted, “Ohhh not them listening ðŸ˜ðŸ”¥ðŸ”¥ I def chose new POIs in that survey they did.” So, perhaps more fan-favs are coming? We’ll soon find out.
Fortnite moves always welcome the madness, of course. “@DamnitKhaos” however screamed, “K POP DEMON HUNTERS AND DEMON SLAYER COLLAB!!! I scream as they pull me back into the pysch ward.” Then “@LIANGMARAJ” said, “if we don’t play, i’m sending a hit out on ALL of you!!.”
What comes after? We would have said it’s a huge matter of the return of Mega City for players who have missed its mix of urban warfare going down to the intensity that affords players online traverses. Either nostalgia pulled you in, or you are ready to embrace the chaos, but one thing is for sure: Blitz is about to get very interesting.
Shall we jump into Mega City? So ready to walk down memory lane or get wrecked trying to! Either way, well worth the memories!
