Others went crazy hyped for Blade, and they bombed the tweets with #BladeIsAwake as if there was no tomorrow. Then there is the one guy who just wants Squirrel Girl to get nerfed (Andrew, we see you). The vibe is wild-and that is precisely what you’d expect from a Marvel Rivals drop.
That real drama is actually some players being salty at the character tags. Why is it that Jean Grey gets standalone X-Men and Jean Grey hashmojis tag, but Blade is stuck with #BladeMarvelRivals? Winterhawktuah would outrightly call them out: “You’re telling me Jean can get the standalone X-Men and Jean Grey tags but Blade can’t just get Blade💔.” Ouch. Struggle is real.
Then Highlander is on a full fledge mission to get Cable in-game: he’s been tweeting at Marvel Rivals since the February rollout, and he has no intention of stopping now. His freshest one is a full move-set suggestion for Cable, complete with screenshots. Dedication? Obsession? You decide. Then Daboss208 replied, “They gonna add Cable in season 20 we won’t be getting him anytime soon,” fitting… probably true though. Hey, hope springs eternal.
And of course, the fashion police aren’t done yet. Highlander instantly tossed out all thoughts on Emma Frost’s hair, demanding far more natural blondes with longer locks. Meanwhile, Molly was just thrilled to start working on her “team of psychic girls” with a pic of the dream lineup. Vibes? Immaculate.
Then there are more enraged players. Ggdickb planned on going in, “Reply if you had yet another shitty day of Marvel Rivals and want the devs to die :)”, yikes. BillyNye300, in contrast, made the inevitable rage spill about matchmaking in which he is currently getting stomped by Celestial-ranked stacks while solo queuing.
But the real winner here has to be TheK1ngTank with his immortalized Blade quote: “Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill.” There really isn’t any need for commentary.
So what’s next then? Hashmoji release on July 8; the community is already divided. Phoenix stans vs. Blade loyalists, Cable hopefuls vs. realistic skeptics, plus the fashion critiques. One thing for sure, Marvel Rivals sure knows how to keep it interesting. Whether team fire or team vampire, ready yourselves to light up those timelines. Just…maybe don’t ice skate uphill.
