The revolutionary Blizzard Raynards I am claiming that tags on Twitter have been creating feelings of chaos within the Overwatch community. The official Overwatch posted a clip “Never let them know your next move” with some good waters of Reinhardt-Lava action, thus spilling a flooddown of reactions ranging from sincere hero pleas to quite bizarre demands (pregnant Mercy skin, anyone?).
There go the angry Reinhardt stans trying to start the flame. People like @mizukageeriq were hailed to the entirety of the Twitterverse, claiming that @AvatarLiger is the “GREATEST REIN TO EVER DO IT,” whereas others found humor in the charge-suicide combo of Reinhardt, stating: “You’ll press your charge (suicide button) into the enemy team, die, and repeat the whole game 9/10!” @Hawkins_172, jokingly.” And honestly? That’s true.
Then came the real drama: hero requests. D.Va, Ashe, Kiriko, Lucio, Hammond (yes, the hamster), and even Reaper were all called out in the replies. @zephyronite actually begged, “do hammond i beg i beg i beg,” while @Bite_Of_087 cried out for Reaper cover with the desperation of a sleepless fan at a midnight game launch. @SekigaNoFukuro then took a hard left by declaring, “WE NEED a pregnant Mercy skin NOW,” which… sure, why not?
But not everyone was feeling it. @Cyndi9000 was whining that hero bans were ruining their Sombra and Symmetra plays, and @Collin42869917 decided that a completely unrelated clip was evidence of Blizzard Entertainment’s racism (??). Maximum chaos was achieved when @Shrek5onBluRay got ratioed in a Reinhardt loyalty debate by @FiddelyDeeeee. Classic Overwatch Twitter.
Oh, and then there was the random-but-persistent clamoring for “comp mystery heroes” (@koziklove) and Switch 2 optimization (@Panduh50279159). Because nothing screams “Overwatch community” like combining reasonable asks with absolute nonsense.
What now? Well, Blizzard have yet to confirm which hero they’ll be focusing on, but judging by the replies, one can guess it’s either D.Va or a very confused Roadhog. Or, y’know, pregnant Mercy. Whichever it may be, Overwatch players will be there, loud, chaotic, and mentally unstable.
And honestly? We wouldn’t want it any other way.
