Epic Games just quickly ironed out a new fix for Fortnite‘s next story quest; yet players remain confronted with every kind of glitch one can imagine. The devs did go ahead and auto-complete the “Scout marked outposts for intel” quest because it simply wasn’t progressing; classic Fortnite way of patching. With one issue sorted, the replies on the official @FortniteStatus tweet continue spiraling around a myriad of others: Voice chat not working? Check. Random errors locking people out? Yep. Missing rewards? Oh yeah.

Big up to Epic for at least giving the nod to the Story Quest bug. Sitting in the current season storyline had it bugging out players being stuck when attempting to complete it. Rather than make the whole bunch suffer through a broken objective, they simply auto-completed it. Smart move there. Alas, that’s where the good news fades away—because it’s a mess in the comments section.

One such black sheep player, @SMPJ_X, related to the whole “error” message popping up when logging in with his fine internet connection. Then there was @ropuu58, who said they just couldn’t get any voice chat going—which, to be honest, is basically squad life. Meanwhile, @Feniks115608 has been riding a glitch to eventually get points for his Ranked Death Star umbrella.

Oh, and good luck with any dev interference on the bot lobby.

See, some players use low-level “bot accounts” to slip through the relatively easier matches, and these auto-completed quests from this season are now incorrectly leveling those accounts. @HPig25 reiterated, “Even making a fresh bot account now and instantly it jumps to level 4 with all the free XP delivered by these fixes.” And that, folks, is a big “oof” for those who rely on bot lobbies for challenges.

Then there’s the mobile crowd. @jerrystokes23 and other iOS users see weird storage errors telling Fortnite to go and free up 15GB of space—never mind that they actually have it. And then there’s @CactusBunnyUwU, who’s now stuck in a login loop that frankly sounds like hell.

And then, lest we forget, all in good times, the French @Saigamk ripped an orgasmic rant about cheaters, calling the Fortnite community “trash.” Roughly: “Deal with the cheaters, is that an extra paid option? Do we have to pay for no-build cups? For limited-time modes? Get off your butts and ban these cheating sons of—” You know how it goes.

One thing is for sure: Epic fixed one thing, but there is no turning back after that. Complaints over missing rewards and broken features have erupted everywhere, questioning whether any Story Quests should be expected. “@LoonieMoonlight” asked straight up, “Will we get other story quests or is that it?” There’s been no word back as yet.

Bottom line? Fortnite is a hot mess currently, with a whole lot of issues still on the board. The auto-complete fix may have good intent, but when it comes to so much being left unaddressed, Epic looks like they’ve got themselves one long week ahead. We can only hope this next update will finally make things right; because right now, the tide of frustration is rising faster than the storm circle.
