A trailer has recently been published for upcoming maps soon to be released for Call of Duty. It’s crazy, and it’s guaranteed to get the Call of Duty fans hyped. The Twitter account of official Call of Duty teased a little bit about “Hammer Fall” and “Storm Chaser Cove” as the players got a taste of what’s next to hit the battlefield. And, yup, it is really hype!
The tweet did not give much detail, but the image attached packs some serious vibes. Hammerfall looks like an industrial war zone, all rusted metal and tight corridors-perfect for the close quarters chaos. The other one would be Storm Chaser Cove, which gives tropical storm aftermath with wrecked edifices and a beachside battleground. Basically, if you love springlike varieties in your shootouts, it’s going to go down in these maps.
There is no official date, but if the tweet mentions anything about looking “at your route of attack,” that means it’s coming quite soon. If we were to make a guess, possibly with this next big update, we might see it. Knowing Call of Duty, they will drop these out when we least expect it, probably mid-gameplay when you’re on a major streak. Classic.
Here is the strange part: not a single reply to that tweet. Nothing. Zilch. Which is… unusual for a franchise that usually has fans screaming in the comments section. Perhaps everyone was too busy reloading to type? Or the hype train hasn’t fully left the station. No matter what, the chaos is pretty much guaranteed when these players get their hands on the maps.
If past updates are anything to go by, then Hammer Fall and Storm Chaser Cove are expected to come with a playlist update, and perhaps even some limited-time mode that forces everyone to play in the new arenas. And we all know there’s going to be that sniper who finds the most broken sightline within five minutes of launch.
New maps: always a plus. But whether they’re going to be instant classics or just enough to tide us over until the next big thing, we’ll have to wait and see which category they’ll fall into. Get in, load up your favorite class, and be ready-cause Call of Duty’s shaking the meta up again.
