A day after 100 Thieves’ former LCS jungler Meteos announced he had been benched and that his teammates weren’t in agreement with the move, 100T general manager Christopher “PapaSmithy” Smith addressed the matter. \n \nPapaSmithy said 100 Thieves has discussed “multiple different scenarios that may suit his needs” with Meteos, including using a six-man LCS roster, playing in the Academy League, or doing something else in 100 Thieves or “elsewhere.” \n \nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/100Thieves\/status\/1277692737572110336?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1277692737572110336%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdotesports.com%2Fleague-of-legends%2Fnews%2F100-thieves-gm-papasmithy-gives-update-on-meteos-stunt-benching \n \nMeteos said in his now-deleted tweet that the players on the team “didn’t know about or agree with the decision.” He also tagged PapaSmithy, as well as 100T head coach Anthony “Zikz” Gray and strategic coach Joseph “JungleJuice” Jang, and sarcastically said the people not on the team would know what’s best for it. \n \nThe veteran jungler previously played for 100 Thieves during the 2018 season and was suddenly traded early on in the Summer Split to FlyQuest. He returned to 100 Thieves in November 2019, reuniting with former 100T teammates Ssumday and Cody Sun in the process. \n \nIn addition to Meteos, 100 Thieves has also benched support Stunt and promoted Academy support Philippe “Poome” Lavoie-Giguere, who signed with 100 Thieves’ amateur program at the beginning of the season. \n \nThrough the first three weeks of the LCS Summer Split, 100T are tied for eighth place with a 1-5 record. Their most recent loss, a 48-minute defeat to TSM, was the longest game of the split and featured several misplays that resulted in the heartbreaking loss. \n \nFollowing 100 Thieves’ loss to TSM in the third week of the 2020 LCS Summer Split, jungler William “Meteos” Hartman revealed he has been benched heading into week four. \n \n“This is gonna sound like a troll post but just got word that I’m being benched after week 3 summer again XD,” Meteos wrote. “Not sure why I expected anything different.” \n \nIn a now deleted follow-up tweet, Meteos claimed that none of his teammates knew about or agreed with 100 Thieves’ decision to bench the veteran League of Legends jungler. \n \nThe organization will start Juan “Contractz” Arturo Garcia, the current jungler for its Academy lineup, next week. Contractz previously started for Cloud9 in 2017 before joining Golden Guardians in December of the same year. \n \n100 Thieves fell to TSM in a 48-minute match full of back-and-forth teamfights and hectic plays. While 100 Thieves appeared to be in the final home stretch at multiple points in the game, several uncoordinated teamfights outside of TSM’s base and around key objectives led to the Thieves’ fifth loss of the Summer Split.
