One hundred thousand Yunara penta in League, and Gala’s reaction? Pure gold. The LoL Esports #Twitter just posted the clip with the caption, “THE FIRST YUNARA PENTA!!!”, to which Gala just threw in the classic 😒, and then the Internet lost it.
I’ll break down the details for those who missed it. Penta kills are already damn near impossible to achieve: five in a row. Trying to do that with Yunara? It’s like winning the lottery and getting hit by lightning. And Gala’s deadpan expression throughout the whole thing? Chef’s kiss. The clip spread like wildfire across the community, spawning ridiculous reactions.
“Yunara speedrunning the highlight reel 😎🔥” was Strafe Esports’ commentary-well, pretty much. KC Elysis responded with the comment “‘kc player in highlights, usual work’ crying emoji,” referencing that wild playmaking reputation of his team. The reply section soon became a gold mine with Apuma commenting “New Azir ability Icons leaked? xdd #KCWIN” beside a troll face image.
But the fans weren’t all cheering. A few of them even started accusing LoL Esports for taking said footage from the LPL English broadcast rather than their own official stream, with Abhi Sangu straight-up asking, “Why yall using the LPL English broadcast instead of your own official one.” Oof. Caerulight was even louder, accusing them of “stealing shit from your fans” — which, you know, feels kinda cheap from Riot with all their resources when they go muscling smaller content creators for way less.
The international crowd also jumped onto the moment. The Brazilian player Jotavê demanded someone to “faça o K imediatamente in Portuguese,” while the other chain decayed into “Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk” – Brazil’s version of spamming LOL. Even the casters were on board: Coreack confessed that “Watching the casters in other languages made me realize that I need to up my intensity when I cast xD.” Ironically, the K from Ping was the last ping for every player in that game.
What puts this penta over the edge? Yunara is definitely not meta right now. Doing this against pros is like beating them in a drag race in a minivan. The play was all about positioning and timing: Yunara’s ultimate bouncing between enemies so lethal with death while Gala looked on almost through the grey screen, disgusted.
The immediate aftermath: nerf calls. (Duh.) Memes comparing Gala’s face to every disappointed dad ever. At least three “Yunara OP” montage videos popped up on YouTube before the end of the match. Whether or not this goes down as a tournament-defining “go down in history” moment or just another insane highlight remains to be seen, but for now, the Yunara community is dangerously puffed up.
To the Riot Balance team, in all likelihood, a patch for that will be drafted as an emergency. Meanwhile, we’ll just keep slicing and dicing that clip nonstop just to see the special effect of watching Gala’s soul melt away in real-time. Somewhere a Yasuo main just decided to end it all behind 0/10 power spike, sobbing bitterly on how looks real skill.
