Yeah, Windows Game Pass put out a new trailer just about games in the store for subscribers. Literally, that is the tweet. No context, no details, not even a mention of the name of the video. I suppose it would have tons of games coming soon to the service. The Xbox just does that. It’s a hype builder without giving away much. The replies, however, really put everybody in the mood.

In no time, requests for games start flowing in. Somebody was begging for the inclusion of Battlefield 6. “pleas battefield 6”: I mean, can we all not want baby-yen? Followed by a rapid disappointment for some. “No Helldivers II tho :(” – oof, that hurts. That has to be big, and it’s not on Game Pass yet? That’s a big yikes there.

Then came inquiries about World of Warcraft subscriptions. Like, is that even coming on Game Pass? It would be huge if true. Then someone else is all like, is there a release date for Perfect Dark and State of Decay 3? We’ve been waiting since forever. So Xbox teases these games, then remains quiet for years. So irritating!

But not everybody is complaining. One person called it “probably the best GamePass advertisement” – and if the trailer does depict a ton of cool games, then that holds. Game Pass has been slaying all day-one things lately. So, the whole owning vs renting argument spills out. One guy goes on a rant that “a true gamer that loves video games buys them” and how Game Pass “kills studios.” Like, okay, Boomer. That whole argument is so tired. Game Pass gives so many people access to games they would not normally try, so it’s a net positive for the industry, come on.

Then come the obscure requests. Requests for the He-Man, Dune, and Shinobi games arrive. TMI. Then later on, another one pipes up, “Where’s replaced,” which is probably about that game Replaced, announced forever ago and still not out. Patience is a virtue, so they say, in that regard.

The funniest stuff will remain the Call of Duty and Battlefield banter. You have an entire thread destroying each other with crossed-arguments on which one will land first on Game Pass and how that’ll impact the other. “But by then bo7 will be irrelevant and It’ll be mw4” – LMAO, next-level speculation right there. Gamers really out here predicting the future game release on a gamble.

Then the classic “not a single interesting title” comment. Really? Out of all the games shown, nothing? That is just hating for the sake of hating. But somebody said, “Xbox fam is eating good” with a fire emoji. So it’s a mixed bag as usual.

The trailer is probably showing a bunch of indies coming down the pipeline and maybe some big ones. Xbox has been really good at balancing Game Pass with a respectable mix of games, from huge AAA down to some smaller, niche games. It’s one of the best game offers right now, even with the recent price hike. But the players want more. They want Persona Reload to be there. They want Fallout 3 remastered. Basically, they want absolutely everything under the sun.

That is the community’s most interesting static point: those who cherish Game Pass call it the best thing ever, while those who despise it say it’s killing the industry. Then the real, realistic questions begin rolling in about when a certain game is actually coming out. Nobody has time for Xbox announcements about games that are way-too-early.

In the end, it is yet more marketing for Xbox Game Pass itself. And it is surely working as everyone is talking about it. The comments are flooded with demands, complaints, praises. Chaotic mess indeed, but that is gaming Twitter for you. Always entertaining, never boring.

If that trailer is yet to be seen by you, definitely clear some time to give it a look. Taking a quick look at what will be hitting Game Pass soon. There will be something for everyone—even those that refuse to admit it. And who knows, maybe Battlefield 6 will actually find its way there one day. Fingers crossed.
