There aren’t many games that put werewolves front and center. That’s a shame too because they are just so fascinating and have a deep history of folklore surrounding them.

That all could change after the release of Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Earthblood. This upcoming action RPG developed by Cyanide and published by Nacon is shaping up to be quite unique as far as gameplay and themes.

Players will get to go around shape-shifting into werewolves, wolves, or just remain as humans as they figure out a way to survive the end of the world. Originally, this title was expected to release sometime later in 2020.

That doesn’t appear to be the case anymore based on a new gameplay trailer that just came out. In its description, it provides a February 2021 release date. It’s unfortunate news for fans looking to experience its unique elements.

It’s not all bad news, though. There is a new gameplay trailer to break down as mentioned before, which is great if you want to see what potential Werewolf: The Apocalypse — Earthblood has. Right away, it gets into the thick of the action. Melee-based combat seems to be the focal point for both wolves and werewolves featured.

As either creature, you’ll be able to unload a bevvy of rage attacks for massive amounts of damage. It’s carnage candy at its finest and shows the potential that this action RPG has early on.

It’s only right that metal music would be playing in the background of this brutal trailer, adding to the symphony of chaos and destruction. The end of days are near, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to stop living your best werewolf life.

In the trailer, it also shows some of the baddies players will have the chance to take on. There are normal humans, heavy-duty exo suits, and other werewolves. The developer appears to have given you plenty of reasons to change forms for additional power and speed.

It’s worth noting that the game is shot in third-person and has a lot of promising RPG elements. In addition to the main story, you’ll have the chance to go on side quests to earn rewards necessary for upgrading your skills and abilities. The mechanics of each form are different and that instantly makes this game pretty dynamic.

There will be those that are upset by the delay, but the extra time just gives the developer even more opportunities to refine what they’ve already done in favor of optimal gameplay experiences.
