VALORANT has recently revealed a significant portion of its Act 6 Battlepass for S25, and the community is having quite a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The reactions are mostly mixed at the moment. The popular leakster ValorLeaks prepared the ground for the gamers, and there was instantly a deluge of replies from the gamers expressing everything from sheer joy to complete despair. It is a bit surprising to see the opinions positioned so very far apart.
We should first indicate clearly what is actually revealed. The battlepass apparently includes two major skin collections, which raises the question among the players whether they will not be getting anymore skins. User Ulol_dis_Jus went so far as to directly ask “Only two skin collections this BP? Or is there one just not being shown yet?” which yes, that is a good question because usually we do see more skin collections, right? But then another gamer poetsfrom1989 supported that by asking “only two guns collections?” so there is definitely some misunderstandings regarding the amount of content here.
Some parts of the community are showing big love for the cosmetics. The gun buddies have been winning over many players with their charm, and rwbixl is the one highlighting the ultimate favorite with the words “the iso gun buddy 😭😭😭😭🫶🏻” while Nana_9794 is sharing “the iso, jett and yoru gunbuddys, I love it😭, Riot is finally worrying about girly skins😭💜”. It looks like Riot is trying to satisfy some players who have been demanding more nice and feminine choices in their cosmetic loadouts, and those are the Koreans.
On the other hand, the opposite part is also there. MRPEVEPE was not shy to call the knife “garbage knife, le mao” which ouch, that’s really brutal. And Willwarriorgame pointed out something specific that has been missing for a long time and said “Still no Breach card” which is a proof of how much players keep an eye on their favorite agents being neglected in the cosmetic category.
According to chantsofciel, the battlepass is going to be VALORANT’s 5th birthday party, since he saw “5 years anniversary stuff in the BP” which coincidentally fits perfectly date-wise. Speaking of date, everybody is trying to surmise the new release date. 005hrs straightforwardly asked “when is the new act?” with rbr_rin presuming “I’d say Thursday” thus excitement is certainly building up.
What is really fascinating is this battlepass has turned some of the former non-buyers into buyers. RaeGhxst joyfully exclaimed “first time i’ll be buying a bp 🔥 riot cooked for this one” which is quite a declaration – at the time a person who generally skips the battlepass offers to pay, you can be certain that Riot got it right. On the flip side, Araxisz posted an image of one particular item and said “only this one making me buy this” depicting how sometimes just one incredibly beautiful cosmetic can be the deciding factor in purchasing or not.
Nevertheless, the exhaustion is visible too. Entrr_Username expressed what some veteran players might be experiencing with “25 seasons and it’s the same stuff as per usual. Lovely.” That ironic “lovely” is quite revealing about how some players are getting fed up with the repetitive nature.
The international players are not the only ones who have come to comment on the new Battlepass. The Mexican-speaking community, represented by merca1_, has already started demanding: “HAGAN UN LLAVERO DEL SOVA LA RE CONCHA,” which means “MAKE A SOVA KEYCHAIN DAMMIT.” Thus, it can be seen that the players worldwide have their own favorite agents too. Moreover, a dramatic exchange in Turkish between two friends arguing over the battlepass quality was taking place, one of the friends saying at one point “Iyyy leş” (translation: “Eww garbage”) and the other responding with emotional blackmail about how sad they would be.
Players are already swapping their grind strategies with ppopatron jokingly saying “the concept of me actually playing the game so i can finish the bp i pay for” and he is using a cute picture – which honestly, feeling. We all have been there with just two days left for the pass that is almost done and we are just staring at the incomplete pass.
Killjoy emote is receiving special mentions with ypslackiert who just says “that KJ emote! Love it!” and this shows that good agent-specific content resonates with mains very strongly.
Yet, there is some controversy when monbon696969 states, “Aren’t bp leaks usually all the cards, all the sprays, all the skins, all the buddies? I’ve been waiting all day, wtf is this 😭” This indicates that there are still aspects of the leak that the community will have to get used to and that it might not be the complete leak that we have been accustomed to seeing. Perhaps more is coming? Or this is all we are getting and that is the reason some players are disappointed about just two collections of weapons being showcased.
At the end of the day, it is clear that Riot will not be able to please every player with each new battlepass. There are players who are totally in love with the female and cute aesthetic and will immediately spend their money on it. Others, on the other hand, see it just as another typical iteration of the same old stuff or miss the main features they have been waiting for. The divide is sharp, but it is this very reason that the VALORANT community is so enthralling – everyone has different likes and dislikes and is not scared to show them.
The real test will be during the official launch when we will be able to see the complete content and its in-game representation. Because sometimes the appearance of things can be drastically different from the leaked images. But one thing that is beyond doubt is the fact that the debates are still going on and this means that the Riots are doing something right by refreshing the game with new cosmetics every season, thus keeping the players interested. Even if the players are not completely happy with every single item, the discussions and the thrill (and yes, at times the disappointment) show that the players still care a lot about the looks and feel of their favorite tactical shooter.
