The official Valorant Update account just presented a riddle to everyone. They built a quiz on it, just a simple image of a burning wall with the words ‘Let’s do a Valorant Quiz. Do you know the answer for this one?’ The responses, however, are a huge jumble that has the elements of confusion, certainty as well as even wrong answers. It is a delightful disorder that shows how superficial—or not—some players’ agent knowledge is.

A quick summary for Google bots and anyone skimming through the text: The Valorant social media account set a quiz in which players had to guess what agent’s ability is shown in a picture of a burning wall. The right answer is Phoenix’s ‘Blaze’ ability. The post resulted in a great variety of guesses from the community, thus revealing both truly devoted fans and players who might need to go through the tutorial again.

Now back to the main point. If you played more than five minutes, you would definitely not mistake the picture. It shows a wall of fire with a curve. A very common scene with Phoenix. His ability ‘Blaze’ to be exact. But, when going through the replies, it’s really hard to think that we all played the same game.

Some are very confident. ‘Phoenix wall :)’ is what elysianwoe is proclaiming. Tizflint is shouting, ‘Blaze for Phoenix!’ The underdog, phoenix,’ says itzjuztLeo, and even though his spelling is a bit wrong he is getting the spirit right. These guys are really good in the game. They see fire and immediately think of a British guy who runs into it. Easy!

Now it is going crazy. User TroyHalo7 just says ‘Who said Harbor😂’. Dude. Harbor? The one who uses water? This is just like seeing a snowball and thinking it is Brimstone’s orbital strike. The atmospheres are completely different. Then Candulla Gaming comes in with ‘Idk man i think it’s Jett’. Jett?? Wind and knives are her elements, buddy. Where does fire come from, her winning passion? I can’t take it!

And it goes on. ‘Killjoy,’ txtfromezi asserts. An Indonesian person says ‘gampang banget’ which means ‘so easy’ but… it is not Killjoy. At all. She is about robots and nanoswarms. No fire. Rogerdotwav is puzzled and saying ‘Hmmmmmmm I dont know, maybe Sage?’ Sage! The healer! The one who creates ice walls! This quiz is clearly distinguishing in terms of knowledge gaps and it is even funny.

There are some answers giving just feelings. Pygowsky is pretty much suggesting: “Buy stuff, ka-ching, lil’ skrrrt—then we’re done, yeah?” which is, same, but not an answer. Reny is like ‘i dont knowwwwww’ which is fair, we’ve all been there. Brad Jacobson has ‘Thats skye cabbage spicy version’ which is quite a description but Skye’s plants are more… leafy.

MeliusX can be called the most hilarious moment when he says,’Yo that’s hard man can’t lie. Gotta be Reyna flash no? Jokes aside, make it harder, something actually challenging cmon’. They want a real challenge! Something to do with smoke timings or ultimate orbs. Meanwhile, some other players are guessing agents from different games—tushar_gahlot99 said ‘Apex legend catalyst ultimate’ Wrong universe, man!

This unusual combination is what makes the Valorant community so thrilling. You can find hyper-competitive players that are aware of every aspect of every ability as well as complete novices who like shooting and might not remember all 20+ agents. And they all gather in a tweet’s reply section. What a view!

The tweet also prompted a good idea from qwubzy who put forward, ‘I want this on a website where I can guess every ability’. This is indeed a very clever concept for a fan site or a training tool. Riot, this person should be hired.

At the end it was Phoenix. It was Phoenix all the time. Nevertheless, the identification of that answer in the comments was a rollercoaster of wrong guesses, artistic interpretations, and good time laughter. It shows that even in a game as precise as Valorant player knowledge can vary a lot. And maybe, we all need to get into a custom game and spend a few minutes reading about the abilities. Just a thought.

The next time you see a wall of fire in-game you will be sure. It can’t be Harbor or Jett and it is definitely not Sage. It is Phoenix doing his thing blocking the view with fire and burning the fool who dares to go through. And you are aware of that now because of a quiz that seemed to be no more than a fun post on Valorant social media, where the community’s mix of deep knowledge and hilarious guesses was on full display for platforms like PlayStation and Xbox players to enjoy.
